My name is Andrew Kelley and I am a sophomore at UMBC. Home, to me, is a small
town where I can walk into the local supermarket and say hello to at least ten
people before I walk out. Home is a comforting place where I can take a bike
ride to get to any point of interest. But more importantly, home is the place
where I have access (due to my location on the water) to all of my hobbies
which include swimming, fishing, and crabbing. I call the small, yet sophisticated island called
Kent Island my home.
I love it when you can go somewhere in your hometown and see people that you know out in public. It gives a sesne of a tight knit community where you can feel safe and secure.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go to Kent island! I hear it is really nice, I would always pass it on my to Severna Park.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to be a part of a small town. There's an alluring appeal to the thought of knowing everyone, establishing connections from every shop owner to housewife. It must be nice.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have access to all of your hobbies in one place. I think that really helps create the feeling of being at home.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of peaceful places it's usually by the water and it's cool that it's more than just that for you. You've painted a nice picture of Kent Island and I would really like to visit, maybe even one day live in a similar town.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats freshly caught crabs. Never been to Kent island specifically but I have been around that area and its very nice.
