My Home is an Island?

My name is Andrew Kelley and I am a sophomore at UMBC. Home, to me, is a small town where I can walk into the local supermarket and say hello to at least ten people before I walk out. Home is a comforting place where I can take a bike ride to get to any point of interest. But more importantly, home is the place where I have access (due to my location on the water) to all of my hobbies which include swimming, fishing, and crabbing.  I call the small, yet sophisticated island called Kent Island my home.

  1. I love it when you can go somewhere in your hometown and see people that you know out in public. It gives a sesne of a tight knit community where you can feel safe and secure.

  3. I've always wanted to be a part of a small town. There's an alluring appeal to the thought of knowing everyone, establishing connections from every shop owner to housewife. It must be nice.

  5. When I think of peaceful places it's usually by the water and it's cool that it's more than just that for you. You've painted a nice picture of Kent Island and I would really like to visit, maybe even one day live in a similar town.
